Ferris Slater to create jobs with £30,000 funding

Managing Director, Jonathan Slater

Cyber security specialist Ferris Slater has received £30,000 of funding from Rosebud and the European Development Fund, which will be used to create high-paying roles within the company. The Walton Summit-based business specialises in cyber security recruitment and is a cyber security training provider. The firm aims to boost cyber security skills within the county and across the UK.

Jonathan Slater, managing director and founder of Ferris Slater, said: “There’s a serious shortage of skilled cyber security professionals in the UK and we initially set out to offer a mature headhunting service. But, that doesn’t solve the UK’s problem, it simply moves the skilled individuals around.

"By delivering cyber security training to both professionals and businesses, we’re helping bridge the cyber security skills shortage. This added capability also marries up with our headhunting service, allowing us to offer delegates career consultancy and make introductions to potential employers on their behalf."

The finance was provided by Rosebud, which is a subsidiary of Lancashire County Council, and the EU Development Fund.
